*Join us July 3-5 at Highland Retreat.  This is our annual church campout.  Many things are different this year due to the COVID virus.  You may come as early as 2pm on Friday and stay as late as 5pm on Sunday.  There will NOT be a fellowship meal this year.  Service will take place in the tabernacle but please bring your own lawn chair. Social Distancing required. The pool will be open but expect some changes with times we can use it. We encourage you to bring a variety of water games/accessories for the weekend. Baby pools are encouraged. Watermelon Social at 7pm Saturday. There will be games/activities organized for the youth and kiddos throughout the weekend. Adults are always encouraged to participate.
*GMF Church Administrator Job Opening: We are hiring a part-time (15-20 hours/week) church administrator. A full job description is posted at the bottom of this page. *Our Sunday services are being held in the church parking lot until further notice. You can find the services under our "Sermons" tab on the website.
*During the weeks that we are not meeting together, you can still continue to tithe through EasyTithe OR you can mail a check to the church.  Easy Tithe online giving is available on! See the bottom of any page on the website for “My Online Donation.” You do not need to register to use this giving tool, but you can set up an account if you wish. Either a credit/debit card or your bank account can be used to make your donation. Contact the church office or Keith Bly with questions.
*The Lacey Spring Community Food Pantry is available for anyone who is in need of food (held Mondays, 4-6 p.m., at Grace). Also, the food pantry is looking for volunteers with strong backs to help. Talk to Kay Kibler or Margie Clement if you are interested in helping.
*Save the Date for Virginia Mennonite Conference Assembly, July 18. Assembly will look different this year in light of social distancing, gathering in an online forum in a one-day event via Zoom. Participants will engage the theme "Living as Those Made Alive in Christ," and Assembly will feature input by Mennonite Central Committee U.S. Executive Director Ron Byler. More information to come.

Grace Mennonite Fellowship Administrator Job Description
Position: Administrator 
Supervised by: Lead Pastor
Classification: Part-time, 15-20 hours per week, paid hourly
Effective Date: May 11, 2020
Position Description: The Administrator is responsible for the operations of the church office and provides support to pastoral staff and the various committees, councils, and programs of the congregation. The Administrator works closely with the pastors in supporting and promoting the mission and vision of Grace Mennonite Fellowship (GMF).

  1. Committed to support the faith, values, mission, and vision of GMF and MCUSA
  2. Has bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  3. Has ample office administrative experience, preferably in a church or non-profit setting
  4. Has high level of proficiency with computers, office software, and technology, including word processing, spreadsheets, basic graphic and web editing, PowerPoint, etc.
  5. Excels in organizational skills, strong attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy
  6. Strong initiative, can prioritize and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  7. Able to listen effectively and communicate clearly, both orally and in written form
  8. Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and proofreading
  9. Able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism, with an orientation to serve others
  10. Able to perform basic physical functions normal in an office work environment
Key Responsibilities:  
Management of office functions and services at a schedule determined in coordination with the lead pastor and church council
  • See that:
         -all persons who come to the church office are pleasantly greeted and assisted
         -all communication forms (mail, phone, email, etc.) are answered with professionalism and timeliness or forwarded to appropriate persons
        -church member personal data is protected with a high degree of confidentiality
  • Maintain accurate and complete calendar of church meetings, events, and ministries
  • Communicate concerns about facility-related issues to Trustees
  • Schedule and manage church facility use according to policy
  • Manage all outside groups that use the church facilities on a regular basis and maintain current MOUs
  • Purchase and organize office supplies and other materials for worship and other events
  • Purchase kitchen supplies as requested by hospitality committee and other groups
  • Maintain office equipment and ensure supplies are readily available
  • Plan and/or provide for the production of publicity and promotional materials when needed
  • Coordinate Sunday worship service, including, but not limited to:
         -Create and print bulletins and bulletin inserts
         -Update PowerPoint files
         -Email communication with all involved in Sunday morning worship
         -Update website
         -Email announcements using online marketing platform (MailChimp)
  • Create monthly print and e-newsletter newsletter
  • Upload worship service audio files to the computer and post sermons on the church website
  • Maintain church website and administrate GMF Facebook page as well as post content when appropriate
  • Ensure meeting minutes and documents are appropriately archived in the church office as well as given to the church Historian
  • Maintain church directory information and email list
  • Manage the church mailboxes
  • Keep records of, and make certificates for, dedications, baptisms & memberships
  • Manage the church key codes and keys
  • Maintain worship schedule month-to-month, including scheduling of worship leaders
  • Schedule and attend semimonthly staff meetings:
           -update pastors and staff on relevant upcoming events
           -bring key operational matters for group discernment and decision
  • Support the various ministries of the church in whatever ways needed
  • Some outside office hours responsibilities as necessary
